The PlayStation brand has been responsible for some of the best games in the gaming industry. Even with the PlayStation 5, they’re still creating classics for fans of all ages to enjoy. Sony has created tons of cool heroes in all sorts of genres. Some of them are dashing rogues like Nathan Drake, while others are gruff and tragic like Kratos.

Regardless of the type, PlayStation has a collection of some of the strongest heroes in video game history. And it’s not just characters made by Sony, but by some of their biggest third-party developer partners like Square-Enix and Sega who have all made plenty of games and game series that spent most of their time on PlayStation.

10 Kiryu Kazuma Is The Most Dangerous Former Yakuza

The Dragon of Dojima has recently come to the Xbox, but Yakuza as a property was on PlayStation for three generations without appearing anywhere else. Kazuma Kiryu started out as a respected member of the Yakuza, but after serving several years for a crime he didn’t commit, he was bounced from the organization. From then on, he became known in the city of Kamurocho as one of the most dangerous men around. The yakuza actually send their junior members at him as a test, which is why he’s constantly fighting them off in every game.

9 Aloy Managed To Save Humanity From Being Wiped Out

Horizon Zero Dawn Aloy in Field

Nothing about Aloy stands out in terms of power, but that’s not what makes her great. She survives in Horizon Zero Dawn’s dangerous world where robots have become the dominant lifeform and are hostile towards all humanity with nothing more than her intelligence. She also has the ability to analyze any of the enemies she meets and take control of many of the robots with a special weapon. With her wits and access to most robot animals, she might not be the most dangerous, but she is strong.

8 Hunter Survived Against An Entire Town Of Powerful Threats

Bloodborne-no-pc-port

The Hunter from Bloodborne made their way into a village with incredibly powerful enemies and managed to defeat every single one. Their access to multiple different kinds of weapons helped them get the job done, as they had access to both close- and long-range weapons.

That doesn’t mean this was easy for the player, however, as actually winning any of those battles took a mastery of the game’s systems and a willingness to adapt one’s playstyle to the game’s rules. Still, this character’s strength and grit deserve to be recognized.

7 Ratchet Is Capable Of Building Nearly Anything

Ratchet Looking Heroic in Ratchet & Clank

Ratchet & Clank is one of the longest-lasting franchises, and Ratchet is one of their best characters, still getting games today. Ratchet’s a talented fighter, having trained in a variety of disciplines to make him well-rounded. However, Ratchet’s real skill is as a builder. Ratchet is known for his varied inventions, creating everything from his own ship to his own suit of power armor. He’s also built weapons that can force people to dance and grenade launchers that are capable of manipulating gravity. It’s safe to say Ratchet can invent a way out of any problem he’s placed in.

6 Spyro Is A Dragon With Control Of The Elements

For its first few installments, Spyro was a franchise exclusive to PlayStation, giving the system a much-needed platformer to stand against Nintendo’s heavy hitters. Spyro was a young dragon with the ability to breathe fire and fly, though he hadn’t developed much else. In Spyro 4, he learns how to cast magic spells and gains control over the other elements as well, including lightning and ice. If beating a dragon is already difficult, imagine how hard one with control of magic would be to defeat?

5 Crash Bandicoot Can Wear Masks That Allow Him To Manipulate Time

Crash is a genetically engineered creature who was altered by his nemesis Doctor Cortex, which turned him into Cortex’s worst enemy. Crash’s powers include a variety of kicks and spinning like a tornado. But where Crash really shines is his ability to gain new powers as he beats up opponents throughout stages. One of his better weapons is being able to fire fruit from a bazooka, which seems to do quite a bit of damage. In Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Crash gained the ability to wear certain masks which gave him a variety of new powers like altering time and changing his own gravity.

4 Jak’s Ability To Channel Eco Allows Him A Variety Of Powers

Jak and Daxter was Naughty Dog’s second attempt at creating an iconic protagonist. His special ability is the ability to channel the energy known as eco, which can grant him different powers. In Jak II, he’s been pumped with dark eco for years and can transform into Dark Jak.

By Jak 3 he can access his light eco instead and transform into Light Jak, which lets him slow time around his enemies and fly. But even without manipulating eco, his skills as a fighter can’t be understated, as he can beat most of the enemies he meets just fine without abusing those powers.

3 Delsin Rowe Can Use Any Conduit’s Ability By Touching Them

Delsin Rowe was the protagonist of Infamous: Second Son. WhileInfamous’s protagonist Cole had the ability to generate electricity, Delsin has the power to copy the powers of any conduit he touches. Effectively, this means he can use any power he runs across, which can include having control over smoke, gaining super-speed from the power of Neon, and learning how to fly with the power of Video. This versatile ability makes Delsin one of the most dangerous warriors around.

2 Spider-Man’s Super-Strength Puts Him Above Most Opponents

Spider-Man belonged to multiple platforms at one point, but Marvel’s Spider-Man is by far the best received and most popular version of the character in video games. Everyone’s aware of Peter Parker’s abilities by now—he’s got super-strength, agility that makes him several times quicker than the average person. And perhaps most dangerous of all is his Spider-Sense, which makes him aware of enemies before they can attack him. In this game, his scientist skills are on full display, as his costume is outfitted with plenty of useful gadgets that help him in battle. Spidey managed to drop the entire X-Men by himself once, so he’s clearly incredibly powerful.

1 Kratos Has Already Defeated The Greek Gods

Kratos’ power is without equal in the God of War universe. After losing his family, Kratos went on a quest that led to him becoming the god of war. But after learning Zeus was responsible for what happened, Kratos went on a tear through all of Mount Olympus for the next two games. He defeated every member of the Greek pantheon and delivered a savage beatdown to Zeus. Eventually, he gave up his violent ways but maintained all of his power, even gaining a new weapon in the Leviathan Axe. This weapon operates similarly to Thor’s Mjolnir, in that he can toss it wherever he wants and make it return. With this power, Kratos is just as much a threat to the Norse pantheon as he was to those on Mount Olympus.
