The provincial government has announced the establishment of the Active NL Fund in support of Come Home Year, calling for applications for community-based projects focused on recreation.
The Active NL Fund is a one-time funding opportunity designed to increase activity, healthy living, and participation in physical activity for individuals of all ages and abilities.
Funding of up to $15,000 is available to support healthy living infrastructure, including the development or upgrade of trails, outdoor recreation spaces and infrastructure, and active street initiatives.
Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, Steve Crocker says the initiative presents a great opportunity for communities and groups to improve active healthy living infrastructure in the lead up to come home year.
The application form can be found here.
The deadline to apply is March 14.
