In a new Instagram post, Black Widow star Florence Pugh shows off a new septum piercing but reveals she passed out not long after getting it.
Black Widow star Florence Pugh reveals that she recently fainted after getting her nose pierced. Pugh, while already widely known for films like Midsommar and Little Women, reached new levels of popularity upon joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Black Widow. Her character, Yelena Belova, proved incredibly popular with audiences and will even be featured in the new Disney+ series Hawkeye.
The character of Yelena is very much being set up as Scarlett Johansson’s successor within the MCU after Black Widow’s death in Avengers: Endgame. Like Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, Yelena was trained as part of the Red Room program and, in Black Widow, she displays an array of deadly skills, putting her lethality on par with Johansson’s character. Pugh is quickly establishing herself as one of the most popular and bankable stars working in Hollywood today and is currently set to appear in a number of upcoming films, including Olivia Wilde’s highly anticipated Don’t Worry Darling.
While Pugh‘s Black Widow character uses cool spy gadgets and dispatches bad guys with ease, her recent Instagram post reveals the actor herself still very much deals with normal human problems. Pugh explains that, in an effort to be a “cool grown-up,” she got her septum pierced only to find herself turning green and then promptly passing out. The post, which features three images, shows off Pugh’s new piercing and her lollipop-aided recovery. Check out Pugh’s original post below:
To be fair, a septum piercing can be extremely painful, especially if one has overactive septum nerves. In addition to the piercing, Pugh also recently showed off a brand new, much shorter hairstyle. It’s not clear yet if the new hairstyle and piercing are in preparation for a new movie role or just part of the Black Widow actor’s personal style evolution, but Pugh’s followers evidently love the changes so far. On her post about the septum piercing, one wrote, “So gorgeous! Constantly leveling up,” with a heart emoji. Another wrote, “It looks amazing Flo,” while someone else celebrated the fact they and the actor share the same piercing.
Pugh has over 5.5 million followers on Instagram and frequently engages with her followers in a more casual fashion, even occasionally hosting impromptu cooking streams she calls “Cooking With Flo.” At only 25 years old, Pugh is still very early in her career and clearly has a bright future in Hollywood, both within the MCU and beyond. As demonstrated by her most recent post, the Black Widow actor keeps it real with her followers, sharing both her glammed-up Hollywood appearances and the more normal aspects of her life, which sometimes includes passing out after getting a new piercing.
