By Gerri Giannandrea

Thursday, January 27

At 12:28 a.m. the Scorpio moon becomes inactive until 2:34 a.m., when it enters Sagittarius. Since it may be difficult to concentrate on business, it’s a good idea to formulate a “to-do list. Avoid projects that are detail-oriented or time-consuming. Instead, handle a variety of odd jobs, run errands and handle routine chores. A lunar alignment to Jupiter at 1:02 p.m. warns against going to extremes. Think before you act. Forget your troubles and go for the good times this evening.

Friday, January 28

Conflicting planetary influences point to a day that can go either way. A Sagittarius moon recommends taking a vacation from routines and responsibilities, and treating yourself to extra fun and games. A lunar alignment to Neptune, however, cautions against careless, reckless action. The moon becomes inactive at 2 p.m. The downside is an alignment of retrograde Mercury to Pluto. This combination may trigger unexpected news, revelations or dilemmas. Minor disagreements can become major battles. Keep it light.

Saturday, January 29

The planet Venus has been traveling in retrograde motion since Dec. 19, 2021, but at 3:46 a.m. Venus begins direct travel. The Sagittarius moon is inactive until 4:09 a.m., when it enters Capricorn. Generally Capricorn-moon days are the best for productivity. This month, however, an applying alignment of the sun to Uranus adds a restless, impulsive mood. It can be difficult to concentrate on practical matters and easy to waste time and energy. Instead, go with your adventurous side. Spur-of-the-moment ideas and plans get the green light.

Sunday, January 30

“Expect the unexpected” is today’s motto. Yesterday’s combination of a Capricorn moon and sun-Uranus alignment is in full force and effect. Lighten up and go with the flow. Be open to new ideas and willing to attempt new experiences. Take a vacation from responsibilities, and treat yourself to quality leisure time. The moon conjoins Pluto at 11:44 p.m. and becomes inactive.

Monday, January 31

The final phase of the new moon begins at 4:43 a.m., when the moon enters Aquarius. That makes this a day to clean out and streamline your workload in preparation for new starts. People may be moody and difficult to get along with. Open the door to a higher level of communication. Take time for yourself for quiet reflection, meditation and prayer. Take responsibility for your choices. Let go of past beliefs, relationships and habits that have lost their relevance. Open your heart to higher visions.

Tuesday, February 1

A new moon combined with a retrograde Mercury can make for a rough start to February. Influences begin to turn around after Feb. 3, however, and the remainder of the month offers numerous opportunities to move forward in your business or personal life. Today the new moon culminates at 12:46 a.m., when the sun and moon conjoin at 12 degrees of Aquarius. This moon aligns with Saturn at 6:01 a.m., and becomes inactive. Because new starts remain off-limits, plan to finish old business, review and redo.

Wednesday, February 2

A Pisces moon arrives at 6 a.m., traveling there today and tomorrow. Mercury, however, is preparing to turn direct in this period. Therefore, it’s important to pay extra attention to details, and avoid risk-taking or tight schedules. Unexpected setbacks, delays and disappointments may prevail. On the other hand, this period is ideal for developing projects that require imaginative thinking. All arts and crafts, writing, photography, dance and music are highlighted.
