The Gophers’ schedule for the upcoming spring season has been confirmed. Minnesota will open their account on January 15th, participating in the Florida Gulf Coast Hidden Dual
Tournament. They will join Toledo, Georgia State, and Florida Gulf Coast in play over the weekend. The opening matchups reflect the play of the fall and will be the only tournament of the season before the postseason.
After last season’s all in-conference schedule, Minnesota will resume with non-conference matches. Following the Florida tournament, Baseline will feature 6 straight matches, with familiar foes North Dakota, South Dakota and Drake coming to compete in Minneapolis. Minnesota squared off against players from each school in the Gopher Invitational, compiling an aggregate 17-2 record in singles play. The Gophers will look to continue this momentum and get off to a strong start to the season. Non-conference play will wrap up with visits to Salt Lake City, Utah and Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Minnesota’s first B1G Ten matchup is on March 5th, as the Gophers head down to Lincoln to take on the Nebraska. This will be the first of four consecutive road matches in B1G Ten play; including Iowa, Illinois, and Northwestern. Following the road trip, Minnesota will host Michigan, Michigan State, and Rutgers at Baseline. The border battle rivalry against Wisconsin will be on April 9th, as the Gophers travel to Madison to take on the Badgers. Regular season play finishes on April 24th, with a matchup against Purdue in West Lafayette. Of the 13 conference matchups, 8 will occur on the road, with 5 being hosted at Baseline. The B1G Ten Tournament will take place in Iowa City starting on April 27th.
