CSS highlights 2021 administrative achievements

2021 was an exciting year for Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska (CSS). Bishop James Conley appointed Katie Patrick as the new executive director of CSS effective July 1. Patrick was named interim executive director March 15 when Bishop Conley appointed previous director Father Justin Fulton as vicar general of the Diocese of Lincoln, with administrative oversight, strategy and mission for CSS.

Previously, Patrick was CSS regional director since March 2019. She is the first woman, wife, mother and lay person to lead the organization.

Patrick graduated from Pius X High School in Lincoln in 2002. She earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2006. She then received a master’s degree in diplomacy and international relations in 2010 from Seton Hall University, a private, Catholic university in South Orange, N.J. Patrick then spent a year volunteering in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with the Canossian Daughters of Charity.

Her experience also includes two years at CSS as a refugee case manager, four years at the Colorado African Organization in Denver and work at the Asian Community and Cultural Center in Lincoln.

In August, following more than a decade of working in the development and financial services industry, John Soukup was named the development officer for CSS. Soukup will pursue and manage aspects of donor prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship in accordance with the mission of CSS. Soukup most recently worked as a field agent for Knights of Columbus Insurance for nearly nine years. Prior to that, he was station director for Spirit Catholic Radio in Lincoln.

In September, Mario Racicot was named vice president of programs for CSS. He leads the social services operation that assists, accompanies, and affects social change and the betterment of individuals, families, and the common good. Racicot most recently was the executive director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Lincoln and has experience in the non-profit organization management.

Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska provides food pantry services, emergency services including rent and utility assistance, disaster relief, refugee and immigration services, St. Gianna Women’s Homes, and a clinical and family counseling program. John T. Conner III joins Midwest Bank as vice president

Midwest Bank is pleased to announce that John T. Connor III has joined their team as a vice president in their Lincoln location.

Conner began his commercial banking career starting as a credit analyst and then serving as a relationship manager spanning 15 years. He also has experience within Wealth Management lending to high-net-worth individuals and families.

In-Home care company opens in Lincoln

A new in-home care company has opened in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Serving residents of Lancaster and Saunders counties, the HomeCare Advocacy Network franchise is owned and operated by native Lincolnite Sarah Pappas.

LES welcomes David Malcom to its executive team

David Malcom has joined the Lincoln Electric System executive team as chief technology officer and vice president of technology services.

Malcom has over 24 years of experience working in information technology. The majority of his time was spent working for Computer Services, Inc. where he served as system operation manager, senior director of datacenter operations, vice president of managed services, and vice president of infrastructure management.

He is a graduate of Bellevue University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management.

LES welcomes David Malcom to its executive team

David Malcom has joined the Lincoln Electric System executive team as chief technology officer and vice president of technology services.

Malcom has over 24 years of experience working in information technology. The majority of his time was spent working for Computer Services, Inc. where he served as system operation manager, senior director of datacenter operations, vice president of managed services, and vice president of infrastructure management.

He is a graduate of Bellevue University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management.

A father of three, Malcom stays busy with his children’s activities. However, in his free time, he enjoys being outdoors, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family.

Lincoln Industries selections and promotions

Lincoln Industries is excited to announce the selections of Dillon Buss, aftermarket customer service representative; Justin Dalebout, department manager; Jake Garnas, sales representative—Branded Products; and Adam Taylor, account representative. Dillon Buss worked as a sales associate at Scheels before joining Lincoln Industries as a customer service representative. Buss will be working with dealers and end users for both Lincoln Chrome and Khrome Werks, providing professional insight and assistance to any questions or requests our customers might have regarding our aftermarket products.

Justin Dalebout joins us after having worked as a maintenance supervisor and brings a strong industrial knowledge background to his position. He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations at our Airpark location and managing a large team of people.

Jake Garnas is a recent graduate from Nebraska Wesleyan University. During his time there he was a five-year participant in the football program and held a position at Hudl as a customer service intern. As a sales representative for Lincoln Chrome, he will be working with our customer base in our southeast territory, which includes Florida, Georgia, both Carolinas, Alabama, and more.

Adam Taylor most recently worked at CarMax and has years of experience in the buyer/purchasing role. He also brings experience from the restaurant industry having served as a general manager. As an account representative for Lincoln Industries, Taylor will work with Harley Davidson to accomplish day to day order fulfillment and logistics coordination.

Aura Mihai joined Lincoln Industries in 2021 and has been promoted to people resources specialist. She will handle post-offer recruitment tasks, on-boarding, rollovers, and other personnel transactions.

Jessica Yesilcimen has been with Lincoln Industries since 2018 and was promoted to people resources leader. In this role she will manage day-to-day functions of the PR team including benefits, leave management, on-boarding, and other needs.

Asmus joins Nebraska Community Foundation

Lincoln – Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF) welcomes Kara Asmus to its talented team of professionals committed to building stronger communities and a greater Nebraska.

As NCF’s new affiliated fund development coordinator for East-Central Nebraska, Asmus will work with volunteer leaders to build community awareness, conduct fundraising efforts and increase community impact through grantmaking and citizen engagement.

Prior to joining NCF, Asmus led multiple programs for the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, including “Drive for Five,” a workforce development and talent-attraction initiative. Her extensive work history also includes leadership roles with the Mid-America Council Boy Scouts of America, Columbus’ Downtown Business Association and the Columbus Telegram.

Asmus has also served as a member of the Columbus Area Future Fund Advisory Committee, an NCF affiliated fund. Other volunteer experience includes UNL Extension, Columbus Public Schools Foundation, United Way and the Columbus Jaycees, among many other organizations.

“As a seventh-generation Nebraskan, my love for Nebraska communities and their citizens seems innate,” Asmus said. “As much as I enjoy learning about the successes of others, I am even more drawn to helping people visualize the things they could accomplish if they had the right tools. TELCOR announces promotions

TELCOR is proud to announce the promotions of Jessica DeBerg, HRIS and payroll director; Kelsey Keady, accounts payable supervisor; JoHanna Mundt, POC revenue manager; and Shana Porter, RCM revenue manager.

DeBerg has been with TELCOR for nearly six years starting as a senior accountant and most recently serving as the HRIS and payroll manager. Since joining TELCOR in 2016 as a senior accountant, Mundt has been a proven leader managing POC customer order processing, billing, and collections. She has also been integral in defining processes for the new accounting system. In her expanded role, she will provide direction to the POC revenue accountants in the management of POC customer accounts.

Porter has been with TELCOR since 2016 where she helped streamline accounting processes for the RCM product lines. With her attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex data, she was an essential component when transitioning to the new system. McKenzie Jones, NP, joins Genesis Psychiatric Group LLC

Genesis Psychiatric Group is pleased to welcome Mckenzie Jones, APRN-NP, to their group practice. Jones is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who performs diagnostic evaluations and provides medication management and brief therapy. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.

Prior to joining Genesis, Jones worked for ten years at a local hospital in the adult mental health unit as a staff and charge nurse. In addition, she has served in the military since 2007 and is currently a captain with the United States Army Reserves.

TELCOR announces chief financial officer

TELCOR is excited to announce the appointment of Liz Wood to chief financial officer. Since joining TELCOR in May 2017, Wood has served as the internal audit director, finance and administration director, and most recently, vice president of finance. Cancer Partners adds Peter Morris, MD and new specialty
