Around a dozen officers in unmarked cars have shut down a Salt Lake County at-home daycare as part of an investigation involving child pornography.
They responded to daycare near 9200 South and 110 East in Sandy Monday morning.
The business owner told 2News she did not know why the daycare was shut down.
Officers from the Sandy Police Department said they responded to the business part of a child pornography raid.
Details about the daycare’s connection to the child pornography investigation were not known, though there was an active investigation involving a Sandy man with the same surname as the daycare owner.
It was not clear if there was a connection.
A red sign on the door said the Salt Lake County Health Department shut the daycare and house down – and that no one was supposed to be inside.
Animal control officers were also on scene. They went inside with a little small cage, but appeared to come out empty handed.
Sandy police officials directed questions to the district attorney’s office, who said they could not comment on an ongoing investigation.
