Shooting for The Last of Us is ongoing and that means a fan can get lucky now and then by spotting Pedro Pascal and the rest of the cast.

The Last Of Us Pedro Pascal

Shooting for the HBO version of The Last of Us is officially underway. If the showrunners for the upcoming series hadn’t already announced that, one lucky fan would have gotten the scoop when she managed to spy Pedro Pascal shooting one specific scene for The Last of Us series.

Pascal, who has been a rather busy actor over the last few years, has been cast of Joel in the HBO adaptation of The Last of Us video game. Pascal, who really introduced himself to HBO audiences as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones, will be starring alongside another Game of Thrones alum in Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie.

It appears that one particular fan of the show managed to spy Ramsey and Pascal filming a scene together. At least it’s clear that Pascal is in the scene in question. If there was any doubt that some of the filming for The Last of Us would occur in parts of the country that look a bit like the future end of the world that the game or show take place in, it appears the fan also dispelled those doubts. Rather than shooting the series entirely on a soundstage, actors and crew will be roaming cityscapes every now and then.

That’s how one Twitter user, who goes by Donica on the social media site, got a shot of Pascal on horseback with what appears to be Ramsey seated just behind him. Donica took a slow-motion video as the actors rode by what appeared to be her apartment window. A camera trailing along on the other side of the horse meant that it appears they were in the middle of shooting a scene for The Last of Us series.

During one part of the fan’s video, she zooms in to get a better look at Pascal and the actress riding the horse behind him when he likely gave the Twitter user quite a thrill. As he rode out of view, he turned in the saddle and happily pointed directly at the fan’s camera. There is no sound in the video, so it’s not possible to see just how The Last of Us fan reacted to the special surprise, but she did take the time to post it online.

Thanks to the zoom-in, fans on Twitter were able to get another look at Pascal as Joel and the largest sentiment was that he didn’t look enough like the popular video game character for their liking. However, some fans did comment that they didn’t care if he looked exactly like the character, as long as the actor did a good job of portraying him.

HBO’s The Last of Us television series is in production.
